"Inner voice"

Artist book/menininko knyga

Title:

The title "INNER VOICE" represents both one of the main themes of the story and how the story itself is hidden underneath the post-it notes.

design:

Post-it notes themselves symbolise the decision-making process as they are made for temporary attaching notes to various surfaces with an ability to easily move them around. Mostly being quick handwritten notes and sketches they help one to make up their mind. By limiting myself to only two colours (blue and red) I created a series of illustrations, varying from more literal to completely abstract ones, that told the story of choosing between two contrasting future paths - medicine and graphic design. The narrative itself is hidden underneath a specific pattern of the post-it notes illustrations, that tell the story. The reader has to find the story based on illustrations by lifting the sticky notes which contrary to their purpose are strongly attached and cannot be moved around because the decision (how the story unfolds) had already been made.

Cover:

The cover being the canvas of unused post - it notes reflects the amount of the decisions that had to be made and some now seeming to be less significant are just piled up on top of each other.
Boards ( grid ).jpg
The grid is based on the size of post-it notes, as they were used in a book.

Blocks of text were put in the middle of the certain blocks (place under post-it note ). Post-it notes were put both over the blocks of text and empty squares in a specific pattern.
